Talking Circle

Monday, July 8 @ 6:30pm – 8pm

Talking Circles are most commonly used in the Native Cultures and ours will be modeled after that. The Circle will be facilitated, and we will use the talking stick technique. The most common type of circle is a simple sharing circle, where people just share whatever they have to say. There is no particular purpose or theme, and many fascinating side-trips often happen. The sharing circle is also an excellent introduction to ceremonies and other tools. Another common circle is the healing circle. By healing it means that healing occurs through talking. This is generally guided by the conductor and will be convened to deal with issues that are bothering people. These issues may be specific, or the circle may be called to simply allow everyone to get any problems off their chests. Our circle will be both a sharing circle and a healing circle. We hope you join us for this informal way of helping to make sense of the everyday items that we all face, allowing us to move forward independently and collectively more easily on our paths. Not familiar with the Talking Circle process? No worries, we will explain the process, ground rules and more so that you feel comfortable and safe.

A Sound Bath is a deeply immersive, full-body vibrational experience that intentionally uses sound/vibrations to invite gentle yet powerful therapeutic and restorative processes to NURTURE ONE’S BODY, MIND, and SPIRIT. Shamanic Cranial Sacral Therapy Level 1 Training with Charlene Vickery

Saturday, August 10, Sunday, August 11 & Monday, August 12 @10:00am – 5:30pm each day

Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of the craniosacral system, which is comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. CST complements the body’s natural healing processes and is performed with the client fully clothed and lying on a massage table. Level 1 – Foundations Working from the Heart

This course introduces participants to scientific and emotional perspectives of the cranial system and to our intuitive approach to craniosacral work. Using slides and disarticulated specimens, the study of cranial anatomy includes an inspection of each individual bone, its movement potential in isolation and in unison with the other cranial bones and possible reflexive relationships with the body/mind. On an experiential level, emphasis is placed on centering techniques, cultivating our inner peace, and opening our intuitive self to interacting with our partner’s cranial system.

Craniosacral therapy focuses on the wave-like rhythmic pulse that goes through the entire body. This therapy stems from osteopathy, which is an approach that emphasizes the role of the musculoskeletal system in health and disease. Craniosacral Therapy releases restrictions around the brain and spinal cord, thus allowing our body to self-heal and self-correct. In everyday life, we encounter and endure stress, strains, and trauma that become trapped in our bodies. When our body holds onto the stress, strains, and trauma instead of releasing it, our tissues and fluids are no longer in harmony, thus our core body system becomes compromised. When there is disharmony in the body this will result in dis-ease in our body and symptoms of pain, discomfort, emotional, physical, and behavioral issues will arise. There are no side effects from Craniosacral Therapy. Charlene creates a loving and safe environment for the client to begin their self-healing process.

This course is using the basic protocol learned in the level 1 course as a point of departure, this course builds upon the basic skills by introducing new possibilities for exploring relationships on physical and energetic levels. The concept of working from the heart will be explored as we approach the sacrum.
Supine approaches to addressing the sacral and pelvic bones and muscles will be demonstrated and practiced. Palpation skills in facilitating unwinding will be shown in separate protocols. Generous classroom time is devoted to developing sensitivity to and practice of unwinding.

During the private energy healing session, the client is asked to become an observer and focus within, but no specific thoughts need to be held and no conscious effort is needed from the client. Hachumak makes a dialogue with the deep parts of the person’s consciousness — he creates healthy, balanced change by bringing the healing forces with whom he keeps a connection; the force of life directs itself to what is individually needed by the client.
