Kristin has had a passion for natural health since she was a little girl, believing that given the right tools, the body has the ability to heal itself. Wednesday, January 8 @ 7pm – 8pm with Kristin Szyperski – Are you ready to de-stress from the holidays? Kristin is facilitating this month’s meditation as a group NADA acupuncture session. Kristin is a certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist and is trained in the NADA protocols. NADA is beneficial to use for individuals looking to address personal feelings of stress and anxiousness, for physical detoxification, addictive behaviors, addiction recovery, crisis and trauma relief, sleep disorders, pain, and much more. This ear acupuncture/acupressure protocol also assists with physical discomfort, over-all stress reduction, and relaxation. Using either acupuncture needles or ear magnets, this process encourages your body to detoxify and to balance. This is a 5 point auricular technique following the guidelines of the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association.

Talking Circle

Talking Circles are most commonly used in the Native Cultures and ours will be modeled after that. The Circle will be facilitated, and we will use the talking stick technique. The most common type of circle is a simple sharing circle, where people just share whatever they have to say. There is no particular purpose or theme, and many fascinating side-trips often happen. The sharing circle is also an excellent introduction to ceremonies and other tools. Another common circle is the healing circle. By healing it means that healing occurs through talking. This is generally guided by the conductor and will be convened to deal with issues that are bothering people. These issues may be specific, or the circle may be called to simply allow everyone to get any problems off their chests. Our circle will be both a sharing circle and a healing circle. We hope you join us for this informal way of helping to make sense of the everyday items that we all face, allowing us to move forward independently and collectively more easily on our paths. Corian Z., “The Other Side” Medium, is an 80’s baby who grew up in a small rural farming community in mid-Michigan not really able to identify the ways in which he was sometimes getting an “alternate experience” of life’s happenings. He would either be able to see things that nobody else appeared to notice, hear things when there wasn’t anyone around, or else suddenly “knew” something about a situation that was not directly shared with him. Shamanic Cranial Sacral Therapy Level 1 Training with Charlene Vickery

Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of the craniosacral system, which is comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. CST complements the body’s natural healing processes and is performed with the client fully clothed and lying on a massage table. The Shamanic approach introduces the client to another level of perception and works with intention, meditative use of the inner eye, inner ear and the empathic heart to communicate and heal the physical, emotional, mental, astral and spiritual bodies. This high art of healing works on a multi-dimensional level allowing for the healing of spirit, mind and body. The individual is holistically regarded so that we can address the underlying cause of dis-ease rather than symptoms.

Level 1 – Foundations Working from the Heart

This course introduces participants to scientific and emotional perspectives of the cranial system and to our intuitive approach to craniosacral work. Using slides and disarticulated specimens, the study of cranial anatomy includes an inspection of each individual bone, its movement potential in isolation and in unison with the other cranial bones and possible reflexive relationships with the body/mind. On an experiential level, emphasis is placed on centering techniques, cultivating our inner peace, and opening our intuitive self to interacting with our partner’s cranial system.

Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of the craniosacral system, which is comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.  Using a soft touch, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. CST complements the body’s natural healing processes and is performed with the client fully clothed and lying a massage table.

The Shamanic approach introduces the client to another level of perception and works with intention, meditative use of the inner eye, inner ear and the empathic heart to communicate and heal the physical, emotional, mental, astral and spiritual bodies. This high art of healing works on a multi-dimensional level allowing for the healing of spirit, mind and body.  The individual is holistically regarded so that we can address the underlying cause of dis-ease rather than symptoms. 

Craniosacral therapy focuses on the wave-like rhythmic pulse that goes through the entire body. This therapy stems from osteopathy, which is an approach that emphasizes the role of the musculoskeletal system in health and disease. Craniosacral Therapy releases restrictions around the brain and spinal cord, thus allowing our body to self-heal and self-correct. In everyday life, we encounter and endure stress, strains, and trauma that become trapped in our bodies. When our body holds onto the stress, strains, and trauma instead of releasing it, our tissues and fluids are no longer in harmony, thus our core body system becomes compromised. When there is disharmony in the body this will result in dis-ease in our body and symptoms of pain, discomfort, emotional, physical, and behavioral issues will arise. There are no side effects from Craniosacral Therapy. Charlene creates a loving and safe environment for the client to begin their self-healing process. 

Sacred Journey Massage and Cranial Sacral Session – Charlene Vickery is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master, and a Shamanic Cranial Sacral Therapist with over 20 years of experience working physically, energetically, and spiritually with the body. Charlene is committed to the understanding the body knows how to heal itself and is always seeking balance and alignment. Sacred Journey Massage is a blend of these modalities creating a somatic experience that moves the client into deeper states of consciousness where the body can release and unwind patterns causing pain, discomfort, and dis-ease. The process begins the moment the client makes the appointment. Something within them is compelling them to invest in their wellness. Something within them has sparked a curiosity leading them to find the modality and furthermore to sign up for a session. We have a brief intake conversation to set intention and to see where the client would like to have movement in their life. The treatment follows protocols for a traditional massage and blends in Reiki and Cranial Sacral Techniques to achieve a truly sublime experience for the client. Level 3 – Unwinding: Sphenoid and Facial Bones

This Level focuses on unwinding techniques using coupled holds with sphenoid and facial bones. Students become familiar with the relationship and energetics of this cranial architecture. We will also work with the lateral bony structures of the cranium and learn techniques to treat Temporal Mandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMD). Students will be shown the relationship to the Reciprocal Tension Membrane and Core Link. We will build on the holds and techniques learned in Levels 1 & 2, unlocking the cranial bones for greater healing of headaches and other hard to treat conditions.
